Moving CAD Drawing to Photoshop

Before moving a drawing from AutoCAD to Photoshop, get the size right through going to Page Setup
Change paper size
When it's what you want, export it as EPS from Plot
Go to photoshop
To fill an area we have to line it
Adding an arrow and distorting it:
you can add any effects to the drawing when it's on photoshop because it turns to a picture and anything will apply.

Adding Depth to a Ready Drawing

This drawing was taken from my class files. It was a ready drawing that was completed on sketchup, and my job was to add depth to it.
First, start with opening the file on Sketchup.
Go to styles from window, Edit from styles and export as 2d graphic
Adding fog
Take three pix to photoshop; the colored, the fogy, and the lines
Start with the colored and make it a normal layer
Then add the lines on top of it
and make it multiplay
Then make the colored one a layer mask
Then paste the foggy into the layer mask
Click while pressing Alt and paste the foggy one. Turn off the unused layer. Then use the lens.
Open the blur box for the colored layer
Source is layer mask
Goal is to make the end of the room blurry and have the piece of the furniture stand out
Change the blur focal distance
After doing the blur disable the layer mask

Then u can edit further with other tools like BURN
Then add lights to windows through selecting them and add white

adding people grass and new brushes

Want your Interior or Architecture pictures to look more interesting? you can do it by adding three little things and it will make a huge difference!
you can add grass, people, and little brush strokes! :D
*NOTE: these examples were done in class as practice to just give a quick understanding of the concept, you can do so much better just by knowing how the following simple rules are used.
*NOTE: The used Photoshop is the FIRST one! I know a bit backward, but that's the only one available in the university computer, but the tools DIDN'T change so u'll still get the idea :)
A- PEOPLE:
For this example I am using ready people file, BUT you can easily do a person yourself by just picking a picture of any person you want selecting him/her and erasing the person so you get a blank shape which you could highlight using the magic wand.
1- open the building picture you want to add people too and open the people file
2- add the people layer into the building one, so both will be together like bellow
3- highlight the person, and add her to a NEW layer. HIDE the people layer (by pressing the eye picture by the layer and it will be hidden)
4- You can make the person lighter (to look more professional and to keep the focus on the building) BY changing the opacity of the layer from the right hand side.
5- that's it! you can add more people as well to make the building look more alive.
B- GRASS
luckily Photoshop already have grass, so you don't need to be looking for it.
1- All you have to do is go to BRUSHES through Window:
2- that's how the template will look like when you click it
but scowl down and you will find grass and leaves, so pick whatever fits with you picture (in this example I picked grass)
3- now you can use the grass as a normal brush, but before u use it add a NEW layer so you can control the opacity of the grass. Then click away!
4- and here's the results with people and grass, and as you can see these two simple additions have given the building a more lively outlook

C- Adding new BRUSH strokes:
ok, say you want a specific effect (like the grass) but with a different element, all you need to do is FIND what you want to add and make it as a brush and use it! :)
1- go to Edit and click Define Brush Preset (that will allow you to add that element in this case it's the snow flake as a brush)
2- when you click the above, it's going to give you a new window where you can name your brush, so it will be saved for future uses.
3- to try it out start a new page and just click click click! (that was my favorite part!)
4- to make it more interesting, you can add a picture or add the brush strokes to a picture to create something new and fun!

Hope you enjoyed this! :D

Mixing Pictures: 2 pictures in 1

Do you have an item that you want to put a background to? or just want to be adventurous and do something different with your pictures? If yes THEN

here's a very simple way to add pictures together or to different backgrounds

*NOTE: these examples were done in class as practice to just give a quick understanding of the concept, you can do so much better just by knowing how the following simple rules are used.

*NOTE: The used Photoshop is the FIRST one! I know a bit backward, but that's the only one available in the university computer, but the tools DIDN'T change so u'll still get the idea :)

To get this as a result:
Just follow the steps bellow:
1- Find 2 pix
2- Make a sandwich (add one picture the other one)
3- Select the item you want to keep, and this case it's the red house, and you can do that by clicking Polygonal Lasso tool or the magic wand.
4- After selecting the item and wanting to delete the background, Press control+ shift+ I (which will reverse the selection to the everything BUT the item. Then press (DEL) Delete to get rid of it.
5- Now, you'll have the house and the tree remaining. The next task is to place the house BEHIND the trees
6- First resize the house to fit nicely by pressing ( control  and  T) which will put a square around the house and you can resize as you wish then click ENTER to confirm the change.
7- To remove a random selection, Just click (control and D )
8- back to tucking the house behind the tress
9- you have two options: a- use eraser and erase the area in front of the tress, but if you aren't careful you might erase too much
10- Or cut out the trees by selecting them, and then copying them ON the house, so they will be in the front
11- Do a little bit of cleaning around the whole thing to give a nice out look, and you can use DODGE (highlighted bellow) to make the background lighter
12- and you can use Burn which is just behind the dodge tool  (highlighted bellow) to make the background or item darker
13- That's it! enjoy what you did and REMEMBER TO SAVE YOUR WORK! :D
